A compact, removable mounting assembly combining the small RAM Tough-Claw, a short B-size arm and a diamond plate. The hand-operated clamp makes it practical to move the mount between suitable round, square or irregular rails and bars without drilling.

The clamp’s rubber pads improve grip and help protect the mounting surface.

Choose a compatible device holder or cradle separately. The holder and device are not included.

• Diamond plate: 2.43 × 1.31 inches (61.7 × 33.3 mm), with two-hole AMPS spacing of 1.912 inches (48.6 mm).
• Materials: high-strength composite clamp; marine-grade aluminium arm and plate.
• RAM’s published B-size component ratings: up to 2 lb (0.91 kg) for standard use and 1 lb (0.45 kg) for heavy-duty use. Mounting surface, leverage, vibration and the full holder-and-device load must also be assessed.

Help

Choose a holder or cradle with a compatible two-hole AMPS attachment. Measure the intended clamping surface and confirm clearance around the knob and arm. This kit is specified for round rails from 0.625" to 1.14" (15.9–29.0 mm) in outside diameter. Check the rail shape and clamp clearance before fitting.

Check the selected holder’s hole pattern, thread and required screw length before assembly.

Compatibility

The supplied output is a two-hole AMPS plate with a B-size ball. Use it with a flat-backed holder that accepts this pattern and suitable fasteners. A holder with an integrated 1-inch B-size ball can fit directly into the arm instead of the supplied upper plate. A C-size ball requires a matching C-size arm.
