Overview

The RAM-GDS-SKIN-AP40-NG is a protective sleeve for a bottom-contact GDS docking setup. Its built-in device connector stays connected to the iPad while the sleeve provides the contact surface used for repeated docking.

For Uni-Conn use, the RAM-GDS-U1AU adjustable adapter is required separately. Pair it with the U4 release-button charging dock and a suitable power source and mount. The standard U1U adapter is not the correct adapter for this case. Tablet and docking components are sold separately.

Compatibility

• Apple iPad 10th generation (2022): A2696, A2757, A2777 and A3162.
• Apple iPad A16 (2025), called iPad 11th Gen by RAM: A3354, A3355 and A3356.
• A2777, A3162 and A3356 are China-market model numbers. This case is not for iPad 9th Gen, iPad Air or iPad Pro.

Use the U1AU adjustable adapter with a compatible U4 bottom-contact dock. RAM’s snap-in guide lists adapter position 5 with the arrow pointing up for AP40-NG. For a USB-A peripheral, choose the U4CDU data dock and check the peripheral’s iPad support.

This sleeve does not provide rear-pogo charging through U5 docks. The AP40-TCB Thin-Case is the separate case option for a rear-contact U5 system; the two cases are alternatives.
