Overview
The RAM-GDS-CHARGE-V3C-3U supplies USB-C power to compatible GDS vehicle docks from a 10-30VDC electrical supply. Its male USB-C lead plugs into the dock’s female power-input connector, while the bare-wire lead is installed into the vehicle or equipment electrical system.
The charger and its input/output leads are supplied. The dock, IntelliSkin case, tablet and mounting system are sold separately.
This updated model succeeds the earlier RAM-GDS-CHARGE-V3C-2U and uses enhanced buck/boost charging.

Compatibility
- Check the input supply: this model requires 10-30VDC. For a 30-64VDC installation, see RAM-GDS-CHARGE-V3CH-2U.
- Power compatibility: use with a USB-C female power-input dock and a device that accepts the charger’s PD voltage and power range. Check device requirements; some need a different charging protocol.
- Dock examples: RAM-GDS-DOCK-U4CPU and RAM-GDS-DOCK-U5CPU have USB-C power inputs. U4 docks require the correct bottom-contact case/adapter combination; U5 docks require a compatible rear-contact case.
- Charging limits: up to 45W, with the actual rate negotiated by the device and dock. It cannot supply a dock’s full 60W rating and provides power only, without a peripheral or data connection.
- Installation: select the dock and mount for the equipment and environment. Uni-Conn snap-in docks are not recommended for open-cockpit forklifts, regardless of charger voltage.
