I tried suction mounts but they never stayed on the windscreen. This allows the phone to be away from heat and gives you full view forward.
The base of this RAM mount sit's in a car standard centre console cup holder; however, it does not fit tightly. It doesn't matter which way you spin it, it will tilt slightly once you put the phone on the holder and connect to this base at a small angle. It would be better for RAM to adopt an open and close jaw similar to cheaper holders. The open and closed jaw would expand and secure the base to the side wall of the cup holder. I would not recommend this for any phone weight close to the iPhone 11 or higher and Samsung S20 Plus or higher.
Thanks for your review Steve. Just letting you know, the tightness of the fit is not influenced by the product here, but the size of your cup holder.
