The RAM® Finger-Grip™ holder is a universal cradle designed for handheld electronics such as GPS units, radios, Bluetooth speakers and similar devices. This video explains how the adjustable fingers and support pieces can be configured around the device.
It covers the different finger sizes, the multiple hole and slot positions, and how the holder can be adjusted so it avoids blocking buttons, ports or controls. The video also explains how the rear AMPS hole pattern allows the holder to connect to compatible RAM® mounting components.
This is useful when a form-fit cradle is not available for a specific handheld device.

today we're going to take a look at the ram finger grip universal holder this is one of the most universal products that ram makes and that is highly customizable for a wide range of different handheld electronics such as handheld radios gps's pretty much anything that fits inside of the dimensions you have a whole set of different holes and different slotted holes different sizes of finger grips different types of supports so you can really support any kind of a device in this particular configuration we're holding a midland radio here that just inserts just in place like this as you can see the fingers provide a little extra pressure so it holds the device and makes it suited for any rugged outdoor environment so the way this holder works as you can see with nothing on it you have all these different holes to choose from and different slotted holes and so by having these different placement options you can configure the finger grips along the holder in a way so that it's not interfering with any of the buttons or ports along the side of the device and so once you have your set fingers you can position any combination here the holder comes with three different sizes of finger grips you have a short medium and long and this really helps you account for the thickness of the device that you're supporting so a handheld unit will most likely use the medium or long finger grips because they have a lot more depth to them and for any set of fingers that are used here we include a set of rubber caps to go on the finger grips and the rubber on the cap creates extra friction and helps hold the device in place but any set of fingers that you're using the holder comes with quantity four of each size on the top and bottom of the plate you have extra slotted holes they'll let you position these optional top and bottom supports that come with the holder now these supports are available in two different lengths so you get quantity two of each of these lengths so you can configure these along the top and bottom in most cases you may only need the bottom support if you have this in portrait mode you can support the bottom of the device so under any high vibration profiles this will kind of help keep the device from sliding out if there is any sliding that's going on if you have it in landscape mode you do have the option of positioning both slotted keepers on the sides but also in many cases the handheld radios will have a large antenna and so that top support is not needed looking at the back of the plate here you can see that there are a total of eight mounting holes with nut pockets on the front these eight holes have three different variations of the industry standard four-hole amps hole pattern in this example here you can connect any ram diamond plate or any round plate which contain the amps patterns you can position it on the center like in this example or you can have it offset on the side so either way you can have proper placement of the holder on your other RAM Mounting components and this allows you to mount it at the perfect viewing and operating angle so again this is really ideal for really any kind of device that fits the dimensions that the holder supports which you can check on the relevant Modest Mounts product listing, including the overall width and different thickness ranges for each finger support size so you can support any handheld radio you can also support bluetooth speakers that are that brick style bluetooth speaker you can support gps's there may not be a form fit holder for a specific gps unit so the finger grip is a great alternative for that so truly a universal holder that can fit virtually any handheld device
