today we're going to take a look at the ram short length b size double socket arm this arm is made up of marine grade aluminum materials has an overall length of 2.42 inches and has an inside socket to socket distance of 1.75 inches so this is a nice low profile option for connecting any two ram b size ball and socket components together and does not contain any spring on the inside so here you can see the short length double socket arm clamped between two ram ball bases so you can get an idea of how much of a low profile or distance you can get out of this but this is the full extension using the ball and socket technology realistically you can angle this in a way to where the ball components are nearly touching so there's really just a little more than an inch distance between these two so this is the true amount of a low profile you can achieve using the short double socket arm now there are three main lengths to choose from for the double socket arms what we're looking at here is the short length there is also the medium length here which has a socket to socket distance of three inches and then you have a longer version here which has a socket to socket distance of 5.31 inches so multiple lengths to choose from depending on what's best suited for your application
