today we're going to take a look at the ram long length b size double socket arm this arm is made up of marine grade aluminum materials and has an overall length of 6 inches and a socket to socket center distance of 5.31 inches so it's roughly a 6 inch extension from one ball base to another ball component with the turn of a single knob you have the spring that's offset to one side that puts extra clamping motion on one side while making it easy to adjust on the opposite end so here you can see the long length b size double socket arm that's clamped onto two different ram ball base components and as you can see it achieves nearly a six inch extension but also it's really a six inch extension from the base point that you're mounting from so you could offset the sideways by keeping the ball plates parallel to each other you do achieve somewhat of a low profile option it's just a matter of how what direction you are setting that six inch extension from so what we're looking at here is the longest of three different arm lengths to choose from so this is the long length here there is also the medium or standard length which has a socket to socket distance of three inches and then we have the short arm extension here which has a center to center or saga to socket distance of 1.75 inches so you have different lengths to choose from depending on what is best suited for your application
