Overview

The RAM USB-C Powered Dock for Samsung Tab Active5 Pro & Tab Active4 Pro (RAM-HOL-SAM52CPU) features integrated pogo pins that power the device via the USB Type-C connector. 

These pogo pins are compatible with both the RAM^® Skin^™ for the Galaxy Tab Active5 Pro, Tab Active4 Pro, and Tab Active Pro and the factory Samsung skin that’s included with the device. In addition, this cradle works perfectly with the RAM^® Skin^™ while utilizing the GDS^® Hand-Stand^™ or GDS^® shoulder strap. For mounting, pair the cradle with RAM^® round ball bases. Includes a USB Type-C female pigtail for power, as well as one cable clamp and zip ties for cable retention.

Cleaning Guide

Often just cleaning the pogo pads with contact cleaner and cloth or even a pencil eraser, solves most issues, provided the pins have not worn down.

Q: Does Samsung DeX work through the USB-C connector via the pogo-pin connection on the Galaxy Tab Active4 Pro?

A: No. DeX will not run through the pogo pins. The RAM-HOL-SAM52CPU is a charging-only pogo cradle and does not pass USB data or video.

How to use DeX with Tab Active4 Pro

• Use the tablet’s native USB-C port. Wired DeX requires USB-C with DisplayPort Alt Mode.

• For a docked setup that still gives you charging and data, use:

  • RAM-GDS-SKIN-SAM54-NG-1 IntelliSkin for Tab Active4 Pro

  • RAM-GDS-DOCK-SAM54NCU data-enabled GDS dock

• Then connect a DeX-compatible USB-C hub or USB-C to HDMI adapter to the dock’s host cable for video out.

Notes

• Some pogo cradles add basic USB 2.0 data for peripherals, but none provide video for DeX.

• Wireless DeX is another option if your display supports it.

• Important: This dock is not compatible with any Power Delivery (PD) chargers. While the dock uses a USB-C connector, the tablet’s pogo pads do not support Power Delivery. A non-PD charger is required.
